From player to stringer

Sports have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up playing soccer competitively in high school, trained seriously in tennis through my teenage years, and these days I enjoy playing golf (10-handicapper). I work in software development, but outside of work, I spend a lot of my time playing sports and enjoying badminton. That's also how I got into racket stringing.

Badminton came into focus when my kid started training and competing on the high school varsity team. Watching that dedication up close — the early mornings, the drills, the tournament nerves — I got serious about the sport too. And I quickly learned that the right string setup at the right tension can make a real difference for players at any level.

Finding a reliable stringer in the Bay Area turned out to be its own challenge. Turnaround times were long, and if you needed your racket back quickly, you were paying extra for a rush order. I figured there had to be a better way. So I got myself a Yonex ES Pro 3.2, a professional-grade electronic stringing machine, and spent time learning the craft. That's how Sunday Tiger started, with a simple goal: to offer reliable stringing with quick turnaround times. My goal is to have most rackets ready within 24 hours, without charging extra for rush service.
